Well today i downloaded a bunch of new songs for stepmania, and ride on shooting star from FLCL was one of the ones in the package. while i was playing the song, it hit me... that was the anime that got me hooked. i doubt id be watching series after series here if it wasnt for me watching it on the internet one night, and getting hooked. anyway can you guys remember what got you started on your path of anime?

I remember talking with a friend about naruto but he gave the disks to someone else so he gave me Trigun.After Trigun i was totaly hooked.

Sailor Moon got my hooked! And I would watch the english dubbs that were on cartoon network. I would rush home from school to catch it before it started. Of course, I prefer the subs over the dubs now. But yeah... It was Sailor Moon. And still love to this day. *says the girl with the avatar of Dark Mercury from the live action Sailor Moon*

yeah, when i started i used to always want dubs, till i found out how awsome subs ruled. i can read fast so it helps. its almost like the chars are speaking english with their jap voices.

I remember watching a few eps of trigun on tv, took me a few years to finaly watch the series here, glad i did. i also remember watching sailor moon a lil bit, back when they showed it on tv.

Wow this has to be a long time ago when I was about 4 years old and one of the first anime I watched was Dragon Ball Z and saint seiya. I also remember vaguely alot of other random anime. I used to get Tapes(VHS what is that) sent to me, there was god mars, Pro Golfer Saru (one of the first ever sports anime), master force transformers etc.... It was the age when the phrase anime wasnt even in the vocab . I also still have AKIRA (dubbed) on VHS which was sold in hmv I think, not sure but the was early 90's, I remember it was when it first came out in english prob 1991 (not sure my dad bought it exposing me to it without realising what kind of animation). Of course there are just lots of other stuff thats lost in my mind from way back. I think DBZ and Saint seiya were the ones that had most impact for when I was a little kid.

Sailor Moon was just so amazing to me. It will always be in my top faves.

I could never get into DBZ. My best friend's hubby adores that one and I think has every episode on dvd... Well, he sold some of them, to replace them with the blu ray versions.... But yeah, my best friend use to hate it, but loves it now cuz of him. >.> But that's alright... If it's anime, then it's all good!

For me, it was DBZ when I was a kid. I used to try to wake up early in the morning to watch it, failing most of the time .

Later on during my teenage years I got into Kenshin and really started getting into anime when I bought the first DVD of it from Wal-Mart. That got me hooked and now I can't stop

I had a bit of exposure to anime when I was a kid.Didn't get me
hooked but it was a start.I think it was called "Yuki the snow princess".It was a very nice movie I remember watching it a
lot.After that I think it was voltrons and saber rider.I watched kenshin recently it was very good,but I couldn't believe the same mangaka made Busou renkin.

Yea you should. Kenshin is one of the best. It's one of only a few series that I can justify owning on DVD.

Will definately watch then. XD

I still haven't seen all of Kenshin. I seen a few episodes, but I really need to watch all of it soon.

DBZ and Rurouni Kenshin were the series that began my anime cravings. Still remember the insanely long frieza fight.

as usual, DBZ got me started but that's all I knew of at the time (as well as shows from toonami). I saw Slayers and Iria and I was blown away It's funny though, cause if I were to go back to slayers, It would probably suck. But Iria will always remain cool. After that, I loved anime's but could never look at them as much as I wanted because I had Dial up.... But When I finally got DSL, I watched naruto, bleach, kenichi, etc.
