Make life easier: JDownloader 5 Months, 2 Weeks ago

For everyone complaining about MU wait times etc...
I shall point you to a nifty little piece of software that will make your life alot easier. http://jdownloader.org/
JDownloader is open source, platform independent and written completely in Java. It simplifies downloading files from One-Click-Hosters like Rapidshare.com or Megaupload.com - not only for users with a premium account but also for users who don't pay. It offers downloading in multiple paralell streams, captcha recognition, automatical file extraction and much more. Of course, JDownloader is absolutely free of charge. Additionally, many "link encryption" sites are supported - so you just paste the "encrypted" links and JD does the rest. JDownloader can import CCF, RSDF and the new DLC files.
Enjoy and your welcome!
Here is the forum board for JDownloader if youd like some additional info http://board.jdownloader.org/?langid=1

Anyway let's not go offtopic too far and thanks for trying to help.
EDIT: Tch! Ninja posted ahead of me.. xD
If you have installed a firewall, you have to add JDownloader, exe, java.exe and javaw.exe (c:\program files\java\YOUR_JRE(s)\bin\..) to the firewall's exception/trusted list to allow for incoming/outgoing communications between JD and internet hosts.
JDownloader requires Java Runtime Enviroment (jre/jdk) 1.5 or higher. If possible, you should use the latest Java version.

i'm not sure.. since most downloaders i used in the past.. didn't really have any problem..
i'm not saying i'm agaisnt it..
but.. when you messing around with .exe file.. and changing your firewall settings.. etc..
for those who using it.. be careful.. and be aware of the risks.
well.. that's all i want to say.
**to the original OP.. since you used it before.. could you create a detail guide (with pictures) of how it work..??** it will be helpful for most members here..

First off, this is 100% safe.
JDownloader has a nice interface and it has some cool features that a lot of other download managers don't have.
It all depends on what you like though.
I'm new to it but one feature I like is you can highlight all the links and just hit CTRL C and JDownloader automatically does the rest for you.
But K.T. is right, a full detailed description of what this thing can do would do well.
Edit: I'll continue to use this and give more of my opinion of it whenever I can.
Update: 0% errors and it doesn't save a .html file like most other managers do sometimes. It also downloads no matter what as stated above regardless of the links being masked or if the link leads you to a link-protector, ads, etc. This seems bullet proof.
Edit: My connection speed is being stupid right now but my max dl speed with jDownloader was 1.2mb/s without premium.

Well im behind a firewall and I use Protowall and personally I didnt have to make any changes to my router or firewall. I was only giving that advice to someone who was actually having connection problems with it.
And for a guide with pics, its already been done here http://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=2541
the guide shows how to dl using Rapidshare, but the same applies to any host.
And here is a video tutorial on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tSs-UHrSV6w or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PafcPiaVO1U
review http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n8o0hkuv0Fg
theres many videos on youtube actually.
Here is the wiki/faq http://jdownloader.org/knowledge/wiki/start
Cheers!

My firewall normally ask if you want something to go in the trusted list. It ask "what do you want to do?" I'm not sure if its like that for other firewalls.
If its not in the trusted list, it may be slow or won't work at all. That may be the reason why you get slow speeds.
But personally, JDownloader seems to have good scripting hence y so far, I haven't had any errors with it.
But there are a lot of alternatives. I know MegaManager should be our main priority since this is a site where you download from megaupload, but.... MegaManager just sucks, BAD! unless you have premium. Even with Premium, I still get errors.
In any case, If we are going to sticky anything, It could be a thread on many alternatives.

agreed megamanager is really sucks lol and its gonna take a long time to DL.with jdownloader i just need to click copy once and click start,if my limit already exceeded i just need to wait till i can download..ty for the great stuff.
PS:even with megamanager sometimes u will get error and ur DL may fail (its like u DL only 36kb even the file has 200mb) thats why i hate it

been using it for a while now and gotta say its quite useful. I use it for Rs basically as I have a RS premium but it works well with Mu too. I like the linkgrabber function and the auto-captcha feature. Less of a hassle for me. i'd recommend this to anyone and everyone.

Thought I'd let everyone know about this if you are sick of dling one at a time. There should be an option with J Downloader that forces JD to maximize when you copy a dl link. Just copy (ctrl c) all episodes on a series then Let JD do the rest for ya.
Update: some megaupload files are password protected. J downloader detects this and brings up a pop up that allows you to type in a password. This can be very annoying as you have to type in the password (animebreaker) every time. The fastest way to bypass this is to highlight all your downloads, then right click, set download passwords, then type in animebreaker then you don't have to put it in again.

sry it took me so long to respond, had some issues with my internet. It doesn't bypass wait time. J dl except the terms of rs or mu so it dls 1 at a time if you are a free member.

I can't anymore either. You can highlight, right click, and hit "copy link address." Doing so will grab the links.
