Player and Codecs Tips 8 Months ago
Most of the files on our site are in .avi format, which most of your players can handle. If you are having trouble playing some of the other formats, (.mkv files, for example) try these two solutions first before posting a thread in the forum:

1) Download the VLC Media Player. I recommend using this player to start with because it can play most of your file formats by default without having to download a bunch of different codecs.

2) Download the KLite Mega Pack for use with Media Player Classic (or MPC for short). This pack of codecs contains everything you will need to play just about every type of media file known to man. Unless you are using a Mac, your computer should already have MPC installed on it. If you can't find MPC, go to the Start menu, select run and type in "MPLAYER2.EXE"

3) You can use CCCP along with MPC, together you should be able to play almost all video format without any problem.

If you are still having trouble playing files, please let us know and we will do our best to help you. Thank you.

Not to be rude you know, but I don't think that it's wise to assume that it should be installed on somebody's computer. I know it wasn't on mine, and I run XP like most people nowadays. and personally I use the CCCP, and other than realmedia files have never been unable to play anything with it and MPC. plus the CCCP comes with MPC. So I think it'd be a wiser solution to recommend that. or at least link to MPC's sourceforge page. just throwin' some suggestions out there, since I have an exorbitant amount of free time to hang around here and I love this place and just want to make it sweeter than it already is.

VLC and KLite Codecs are unharmed freebies, I dont see any reason why it's not wise to suggest people to use it, or install it on their computer if it can help people to view the anime.

Of course there's always an alternative for everything, I'm just offering what I know and what I use.

If you have link to CCCP I would gladly put it on the first post so people have more alternative. Thanks for the suggestions.

I didn't mean that they shouldn't use VLC or KLite, I myself used VLC before I started using MPC, I meant assuming that Media player classic is on their system.

I use CCCP and MPC myself also; however, I also have GOM player. Most sites I read say that GOM player sucks for watching anime because it does not support that many encodes. I do not know if that is true or not, but, in any case, GOM TV is nice ^.^

Re:Player and Codecs Tips 6 Months, 1 Week ago
I have a mac and i hav a few programs that work well for me,
i hav vlc for mac, but it is sometimes buggy and quits "unexpectedly". (mac users will no wat i mean)
I use a prefrence pane that came with a set of tools called 'perian' and it plugs into quicktimee to make it play nearly every video format i can find (ther's a huge list) except mkv's. I highly reccommend this one for mac users tho b'cause on my g4 ibook, wen playing hd and stuff vlc will drop frames to th point wer its rediculous and gives u a frame every 10 seconds or so, but using perian, it transforms quicktime so the seek bar down the bottom looks like its streaming or sumthing. after it loads i can watch very high definition things with no trub. i think it loads it into th ram and plays from ther or sumthing.
I also use NicePlayer and Media Player MACOSX both also have ther advantages.
I hope this helps anyone in need

KMPlayer + K-Lite Mega Codec pack = the best!!!!!!!!!

why?
can play anything AVI, RMVB, RM, OGM, MKV, FLV, XVID, MPEG, MOV, etc
full screen in high colored quality (kmplayer beats media player classic with this)
adjustable screen size, increase width, height removes the black part in DVD videos
many media filters and rare video/sound filters (media player classic dont have this)
adjustable video brightness, contrast, color, etc..
many features that you cant see in any player..

try it and compare hehehe

here is the best player i know and im using..

KMPlayer 2.9.3.1428 Final

Code:

http://www.kmplayer.com/down/kmp.exe

can play almost all media files including FLV, OGM, MKV without installing a codec but when playing RMVB you need to download

K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 3.8.0

Code:

http://download.betanews.com/download/1080441198/klmcodec380.exe

after you install the codec KMPlayer can now play anything

To convert videos you can use this

Apex Video Converter Super 6.39

Code:

http://www.tompegx.com/download/apex-video-converter-super.exe

Serials:

CBB121B0BADBA6A687757FF2FFC7804175DAC009AF54B7F1
